Angelo Gaja, owner and president of its Gaja winery, is a fourth generation iedmontese winemaker. Internationally
acknowledged as one of Italy's and the worlds greatest winemakers. Among his innovations are the
use of barriques for aging wines and his planting of the regions first Cabernet Sauvignon as well as it’s first
hardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc vineyards. In 1996 Gaja acquired a second property in Tuscany, Ca’Marcanda
primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot as well as Cabernet Franc and Syrah.
